Primgold - Cristiana Cott Negoescu

The current annual artwork edition from the Friends of Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation:
The limited series Primgold by artist Cristiana Cott Negoescu comprises 49 unique pieces – a number that directly refers to the 49 possible numbers in the lottery.

The works are based on original invoice forms in white or green.

Each work contains six numbers: five are stamped in red ink, one number is cut out and backed with 24-karat gold leaf. The sheets are mounted on 350 g white cardboard, unframed, in the format 21 × 29.5 cm.

Primgold is closely related to Cristiana Cott Negoescu's performative installation Roulette, which was presented at Museum Schloss Moyland as part of the exhibition Marina Abramović Institute in Dialogue with Joseph Beuys in 2025/2026. Roulette presents the tension between people and products as well as dependence on systems. Primgold takes up this discussion and gives it another twist: What importance do we attach to luck, and which references do we trust when it comes to hope, risk, and belief?

The possibility of personalizing each work upon request is particularly appealing. The golden "lucky number" can be individually calculated based on the buyer's date of birth. This transforms the work not only into a symbol of chance and luck but also into a personal talisman – a sign of one's own "victory in the algorithm."
