Guided tours (German): Moyland's Hydrangea collection (June-October 2026)

Moyland Castle is one of the most important neo-Gothic castle complexes in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The hydrangea collection in the Moyland Castle Park comprises more than 2000 plants from over 530 historical and current varieties. In addition to historical aspects, you will learn interesting facts about the use, cultivation, fertilization and blue coloring of these special plants during the tour.

Hydrangeas have a long tradition in the castle gardens of Europe. Their large flower balls deeply impressed the nobility when the woody plant came to us from Asia and later from the American continent in the 18th century. Hydrangeas are considered a symbol of gratitude, grace and beauty.

Only a limited contingent of tickets for our guided tours is offered here in the online shop to allow visitors to participate spontaneously on site even without a reservation. If a guided tour is no longer available here in the shop, participation may still be possible if you report to the Moyland Castle ticket office well in advance of the appointment.

Please note: The ticket entitles you to participate in a public guided tour in the castle park. It is not valid for admission to the exhibitions in the museum, for curator tours, workshops or for special events such as markets in the park or conferences.

You can participate in our public guided tours without prior registration. However, the number of participants is limited to 20 people. Participation is guaranteed for holders of online tickets.
