Schwarzspeicher, slate blackboard set

Joseph Beuys (1921-1986) was a German performance artist, sculptor, draftsman, and professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. He is regarded worldwide as one of the most significant German artists of the 20th century.

The slate blackboard always played a central role for Beuys. It appeared in performances and public lectures in the 1960s and 1970s, where drawing became a kind of active exchange – rather than a purely static representation. The blackboard served not only as a writing surface, but as a tool for dynamic communication.

This is also the intention of this "Schwarzspeicher" set. You will find in it a slate blackboard, 5 pieces of blackboard chalk, and a felt cloth. Use the set to make thoughts visible, to present explanations, to test out creative ideas, for scribbles, etc.
