Guided tours (German): historical herb garden (May-October 2026)
Moyland Castle is one of the most important neo-Gothic castle complexes in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Plant and herb lovers can experience herbs with all their senses during a tour of the herb garden in the castle park. In addition to interesting facts about their use and effect, growth, care, and preferences, cultural and historical aspects are also addressed.
The herb garden contains approximately 300 different native and foreign herbs. These include herbs from the Anholt-Moyland herbal book, poisonous plants, exotic herbs, a bed with herbs known since antiquity. There are also medicinal plants and herbs that play a role in Hildegard von Bingen's herbal medicine, as well as kitchen herbs.
